A man is being charged with attacking websites belonging to the Home Office and the Home Secretary Theresa May. Mark Lynden Johnson, 43, from Stoke-on-Trent, is being charged with encouraging or assisting an offence under the Computer Misuse Act. He is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 12 March. Both websites were taken offline during attacks between 15 and 18 June 2012, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said. The websites were subjected to a Distributed Denial Of Service attack, also known as a DDoS attack, which prevented visitors accessing them, a CPS spokesperson said.
